As 2019 comes to an end it is time to wrap things up and get ready for a new year full of new motorcycle adventures.
There have been some truly unforgettable rides which started with our flagship tour Hidden Sri Lanka in February with a smaller group than usual, followed by some bespoke rides around the island. We also had the opportunity to ride with Chris and Carolyn from the Telegraph UK teaming up with Teardrop and using some of their amazing properties and we will end the year with another bespoke tour of 8 days over the Christmas period.
In July it was time to test our riding skills in The High Himalaya and no matter how many times we have been there, it always feels like it’s the first time riding on the roof of the world crossing the highest passes and the beautiful valleys of Ladakh. This year saw some great riders not least Kieran who went back for his bag but still caught the group.
August brought two back to back tours in Mongolia. A tricky motorcycle ride as most of the time we are off road in the back of beyond and guess what we managed to get lost for a couple of days, a real adventure! Rain gave some problems on the second tour as the rivers rose quickly and cut us off from our route drowning a couple of bikes along the way and forcing us to do some last minute route changes.
November and December Extreme was back in India for two more tours, this time more relaxed rides visiting ancient sites and staying in heritage palaces once home for the Maharajas of Rajasthan. The Land of Kings is steeped in history and has so much to offer the inquisitive traveler. Not to forget our friendly cricket matches with a local team, yes we did lose both but we were featured on the local newspaper.
2020 is going to be an amazing year. We have relaunched our Tibet tour where will be riding from Kathmandu to the “Forbidden City” Lhasa and on the way back we will visit Mt. Everest Base Camp. This tour promises to be majestic!
We will also be launching new tours in Sri Lanka and Rajasthan to suit different budgets and time-frames and we are almost ready to officially launch Myanmar (though this adventure will take place in March 2021).
A special thanks to all of you that joined us and shared remarkable and Extreme moments with us.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
