Northern Thailand offers some of the finest motorcycle riding in Southeast Asia. The Roads of Lanna is a 13-day journey through the mountainous heart of the ancient Lanna Kingdom, where flowing mountain roads connect remote valleys, traditional villages, and vibrant cultural centres.

The ride begins in Chiang Mai, the historic gateway to the northern highlands. From here the route climbs into the cooler mountain air of Doi Inthanon and winds through forested hills toward quiet border regions where traffic fades and the roads become more intimate and engaging.

Across the following days, the journey traces a network of beautifully engineered mountain roads that twist through jungle valleys and limestone peaks. Remote towns such as Mae Sariang, Pai, and Chiang Dao provide overnight stops surrounded by dramatic landscapes and a slower rural rhythm. Along the way, riders encounter sweeping corners, rolling ridgelines, and long stretches of smooth asphalt that make northern Thailand a favourite among motorcyclists worldwide.

Further north, the route reaches the Golden Triangle region where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet along the Mekong River. Scenic riverside roads and cultural landmarks offer a change of pace before the journey turns east toward the quieter mountain provinces of Phu Chi Fa and Nan. These highland routes are known for their continuous curves, light traffic, and expansive views across layered mountain ranges.

The tour balances rewarding riding with cultural discovery. Ancient temples, hill tribe communities, local markets, and traditional villages provide regular opportunities to step off the bike and experience the rich heritage of the region.
