About the High Himalayas Motorcycle Tour
One of the most iconic motorcycle rides anywhere in the world.
This tour takes us from the foothills of the Himalaya near Shimla through the remote and dramatic Spiti Valley on the Royal Enfield 500cc all the way to Leh the capital of Ladakh.
Travelling over one of the highest motorable passes in the world, the infamous Khardung- La (18,380 ft) and Chang La on a trans Himalayan journey.
A high altitude adventure with breath-taking scenery on the roof of the world.
Visit remote lakes and deserts nestled amongst the towering snow covered peaks of the Mighty Himalaya.
Visiting some of the world’s oldest monasteries along the way we get a feeling for the Indo- Tibetan culture unchanged for centuries.
Twisting through spectacular motorcycling roads in some of the most remote and challenging terrain on earth, encountering nomadic herdsman and sightings of rare camels add to the overall experience. This is a land like no other.
This is a physically challenging tour staying in a range of accommodation from tented resorts to local hotels and will be the start of a long love affair with the Royal Enfield.

When touring in the Himalayas at the right time of the year – July & August – you can expect mostly blue skies although it can be cold at night due to altitude. When the sun is out, it is hot and you can get sunburnt easily.
Beside protective clothing such as pants, boots and jackets for when riding, in general you can wear shorts and light t-shirts. It is also recommended to bring a sweater or two, alongside with some long pants for when staying at higher altitude. Waterproof jacket is also recommended as some days might be rainy.
We ride 12 days out of 16. On day 1 we meet and next day we take a domestic flight to Narkanda. After being transported to our bikes in a van we will start riding. We will have a rest day in Leh on the 11th day and day 14 will be our last riding day. On the 15th day we will fly back to Delhi and the next day the tour will end.
As we always say, we are not doctors so we strongly recommend that you consult your physician of trust and ensure that you are physically fit for such an experience. Said so, the expedition starts at lower altitudes and gradually takes us high up to 5000+ mt to help acclimatize. The main player inducing altitude sickness is the lack of oxygen, for this reason we also carry portable oxygen cylinders in the support vehicle for any eventuality.
The minimum number of riders required for tours in India is 8. The maximum number of riders per group is 10.
Partners, family members or friends of riders can also join and travel in the support vehicle at Pillion price.
