    About The Wilds of Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan is raw, high-altitude wilderness — a land of towering mountain ranges, remote steppe and deep nomadic tradition. The Wilds of Kyrgyzstan is a demanding 10-day motorcycle expedition through the heart of the Tien Shan, crossing high passes, alpine lakes and isolated valleys rarely visited by travellers.

The journey begins in Bishkek before heading east toward the vast landscapes surrounding Issyk-Kul and the remote Karkara Valley. From there, the terrain becomes more rugged as we ride toward the former Soviet outpost of Enilchek, tracing mountain roads near the borders of Kazakhstan and China beneath the peaks of the Tien Shan.

High passes above 3,500–4,000 metres define much of this route. Gravel tracks, river crossings and remote mountain roads lead us to Karakol, Naryn and onward to the spectacular alpine lakes of Kel Suu and Son Kul. Nights are spent in a mix of local guesthouses and traditional yurts, offering an authentic experience of Kyrgyz nomadic life.

This tour is physically demanding and suited to experienced riders. The terrain alternates between asphalt, gravel, rough mountain tracks and high-altitude switchbacks. Conditions can change quickly, and the remoteness adds to the challenge.

Along the way, you’ll encounter dramatic canyons, endless steppe, grazing horse herds and shepherd camps scattered across open plains. The scale is immense and the sense of isolation real.

The Wilds of Kyrgyzstan is not about comfort or smooth riding. It is about mountain air, altitude, effort and reward. It is about riding into landscapes that feel untouched and experiencing Central Asia at its most authentic — from the saddle of a Honda CRF 250 built for exactly this kind of terrain.
