Guided Motorcycle Tours in Mongolia

Mongolia offers some of the last true wilderness motorcycle touring on earth, and there is no better way to ride it than from the seat of a Royal Enfield 500cc Bullet. Extreme Bike Tours runs two fully-supported, all-inclusive motorcycle tours in Mongolia, each built around a different face of the country — the northern hills and river country on the trail of Chinggis Khan, and the rolling steppe south into the Gobi Desert.

Every guided Mongolia motorcycle tour includes your Royal Enfield Bullet, fuel, accommodation, all meals, expert local and international guides, and a support vehicle with mechanic, so you can focus on the empty horizon. Once you leave Ulaanbaatar — home to around 40% of the population — there are very few roads and almost no traffic. You ride nomadic tracks, river crossings, silver birch forest and desert, camping wild and sleeping in traditional gher camps and hunting lodges.

On the Trail of Chinggis Khan is our extreme Mongolia off-road motorcycle tour: 12 days through rolling hills and mountains, river crossings, dirt and mud. Off-road experience and adaptability are required. The 2027 departure runs 5–16 August. Steppe into the Gobi is the intermediate sister ride — same bike, same all-inclusive support — following nomadic tracks from the green steppe into the Gobi. 2027 dates are released on request.

Both Mongolia motorcycle adventures are capped at a small group, run on the legendary Royal Enfield 500cc Bullet, and are built for riders who want emptiness, horses on the open grassland, and a living nomadic culture rather than a highway itinerary. Mongolia is a land of Extremes and the temperatures drop between September and December very quickly. That said when we tour in July-September the weather can be hot and dry in the 20’s although it is changeable and we have to prepare for all eventualities. Needless to say the further North we go, the colder it gets.

Protective gear such as pants, boots and jackets for when riding. Waterproof jacket is also recommended. Warm clothing, especially for the cold nights.

Partners, family members or friends of riders can also join and travel in the support vehicle at Pillion price.

The minimum number of riders required for any tour in Mongolia is 8. The maximum number of riders per group is 10.
